A special note from Amanda

By Amanda Vinci

As some of you might already know, Mario and I are very excited to greet a tiny new addition to our family in November. This will be our first hybrid and we are super excited about meeting this little man!

Although this is Mario’s first baby, for me it feels like I’m a little more experienced in this domain. No, I haven’t had any physical children (although do fur babies count?💁‍♀️), however, for the last 5 years, The EA Institute has been my baby.

I have watched it grow through its many stages of child development….

✨ Conception where this business name was crafted on the back of a flimsy whiteboard from Kmart in a granny flat.

✨ Infancy where I set out to be the first training in Australia to be supporting EAs in becoming leaders.

✨ The Terrible Twos where I questioned if I could do this.

✨ Toddler where I had people help me because I’m no supermum and need support.

✨ Mum guilt, when I take leave and my team are still working.

✨ And for the last and newest challenge…. separation anxiety.

It’s time for me to hand over the parenting baton to my wonderful team while I go on maternity leave, starting Friday 4th November 2022.

And although there have been some highs and lows over the last 5 years, as I’m sure any parent would say, I wouldn’t change any of it. I have loved being a parent of this business. I have loved watching us have an impact on Executive Assistants from around the world where we are literally changing their lives daily. I’ve said it before, but I will say it again, thank you to every single one of you who believed in me, believed in this business and believed in what we have today. You mean so much to me and will continue to hold you close to my heart.

Now for the very exciting news. Although I plan to only take a short time off, with me planning to be back to work with light duties in late January (I know, I’ve been told that’s crazy, but I never do things easy) It is important for me to have someone truly take ownership of this business and to continue to deliver the same level of support while I’m away and I am very pleased to announce that Narelle McMahon will be taking on the role of Acting CEO during this time.

For those of you that know Narelle, you know how passionate she is about supporting Executive Assistants and I couldn’t think of anyone better to lead while I’m away. Narelle started her career as an EA 30 years ago and worked her way up to various senior c-suite roles. If you haven’t connected with her, you can do so here on LinkedIn, make sure you say hello and give her some love and support.

Congratulations Narelle, it’s been a privilege supporting and watching you grow into the leader you are today.

You also have the rest of our amazing team here supporting you as always during this period.

Thank you again for your support over the last 5 years and I can’t wait to support you in 2023 with even bigger plans coming your way.

Much love,
Amanda
